I have read on different threads about givng pepcid to help prevent ulcers. When is this prescribed. Wylie my senior gulr at 11 had a relapse last week Since she was diangnosed in April. She is 50# and is on 20 mg pred and 50 mg azipirothen per day for 30 days and hopefully reducing after that. Should she be on pepcid? THanks Laurie

All I can share is what I was doing - 10mg Pepcid at night (I started that immediately upon onset)and then we added Prilosec about 10 days ago to try to super coat the tummy after a day and a half of vomiting. Kit was not on suflcrate (sp?). Take care.

Hi Laurie. I'm sorry to hear that Wylie has had a relapse. The specialists at Washington State University put Duck on sucralfate and pepcid and instructed us to give him both of those an hour before adminstering the prednisone. deb and Duck
