Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - what is ronaxon

my dog has been prescribed ronaxon.can anyone tell me what it is, because he's very ravenous since he's been having them.

This is the UK version of doxycycline, a tetracycline antibiotic. It was most likely prescribed to treat either a diagnosed or a suspected tick disease. This is the most common drug prescribed for this not only in dogs but in humans as well.

If your dog is also on prednisone, this will make him ravenous. But the doxy will not do that. In fact, it will make many dogs feel nauseous and lose their appetite. Be sure that when you dose it you are giving it with food, preferably in the middle of a meal.
