| When we lost Trixie, I told myself I could never have another dog again, however, I found myself looking at many rescue websites, my heart went out to all the ones I read about. I wanted to home them all! Mia is our new addition to our family, she is a Retriever cross Collie, 6 months old and full of it! She came from Ireland, had been in a couple of pounds as well as running the streets as a stray. She was due to be put to sleep. I saw her on one of the sites and after a few days of thinking, decided to make contact with her fosterer and here we are now with Mia! Two weeks later, I came across another rescued dog, Collie cross Beagle, her name is Bella. Bella is a around 18 months old, she is lovely. Very calm and quiet. Again, she is also from Ireland, apparently was kept on a very short chain for most of her life, poor thing. We arranged to meet Bella and took Mia with us. They got on fine together, so we decided to go ahead and offer her a home :+) I'll add a link where I have put a few photos of Mia and Bella, hope it works. I still check this forum most days and still can remember very clearly the day I found it, seems like it was only yesterday. I received a lot of support from you all and am very grateful for that. Trixie is still very much in my heart and she is still greatly missed. I can't imagine what she thinks about 2 doggies running around the house here! she never was a very doggy dog. | Good for you Tricia - what beautiful doggies you have. I too frequent the rescue websites and if I didn't already have three dogs, I'd be adopting one or two rescue dogs. If we lived on an acreage I would consider adding to my family of three anyway. So glad for you and the two wonderful dogs who have been lucky enough to fall into your care. Bless you! deb and Duck |

Great news Tricia, and lovely dogs. Mia is almost the double of my Loki at that age. She's 10 now and has filled out as she's got older, but they still look very alike. I'm sure Trixie would approve. :-)

Congratulations on your new additions, they are both beautiful dogs!!! I think you will really enjoy having two as they are company for each other not to mention playmates. We have 3 myself and would never go back to having just one. What a tribute to Trixie to go out and give two rescue dogs a new home. Our best wishes, Cheryl & Ginger

Tricia While Trixie could never be replaced I am sure she is happy that you have 2 new dogs to love. All four of our current dogs are rescue/dumped dogs as was my Salome and her sister Delilah before them. I would never get a puppy again as sweet as they may be. It will always be a an older dog that needs a chance. It is hard not to want to give every stray I see a home. We would need a bigger bed! Your girls are beautiful and look extremely happy. Penny

Tricia, Congratulations on your new editions. They are both beautiful.I lost my dog Cali 6 weeks ago to this disease. I too have been searching rescue sites & petfinder.com. My other dog Brandy seems lost with out her sister. The highlight of her day is our daily walks. I know she'll be a great big sister when I do finally decide on another dog. Good Luck Dee
