Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - We have a new addition...

We welcome little Layla, a Golden Retriever. She is very tiny, the breeder told us she was 7 weeks, which I feel is the best time to take any retriever, when we got home I figured it out and she is just 6 weeks.. but healthy, well socialized, the entire litter was great.. and a big one LOL.

Most people think we are crazy to get another one so soon... I know all of you here understand. As my youngest son said " Mom we had to restore balance... it has always been a Yellow Lab, a Husky and a Golden Retriever." I guess we would not have it any other way.

I thank you for all the support you have given me through two battles now. I am praying for all of you and your furkids... hugs and belly rubs all around.

blessings,

Julie

Julie,
Congrats on your new addition. We figure the balance is 4 because frosty paws come in packs of 4 Ha!
Enjoy your new little girl.

Thank you all for your kind words of welcome for Little Layla. Here is a link for my photo bucket album - there are only two pics right now (photo bucket is not cooperating) and it is really hard to get any pics other than sleeping, she moves too fast LOL.

Oh, the lusciousness! She is SO cute...and I can smell that sweet puppy breath halfway across the country. :-) Congratulations on adding Layla to the family, and here's hoping for a long and healthy life for her.

Oh Julie, she is just the cutest! There is nothing like a puppy to help ease the pain and you don't forget it does help you focus. I love what your son said about restoring the balance, that is just how I felt when I lost Holly, that our household was a 2 dog household and on of then had to be a springer!
Layla is such a lovely name, does it have any significance? I named my pup Sapphire, my birthday stone and for when I lost Holly, but she is known as Saffy or by my 3 year old daughter as Cheeky Monkey!

Enjoy your new addition and the biting, lol! Just over that, thank goodness!!

Julie, this is such great news, and Layla is a beauty! I'm so jealous...I can't wait to get a new dog. I don't see it at all as "replacing" Raven -- she just taught me how much joy a dog brings. I know Layla will bring you many, many new joys.

Congratulations Julie. We added back in after only 3 weeks because our other puppy just couldn't handle the loneliness. Never too soon if you make the decision yourself :)
