I am going to switch Tessy from multi-vitamins to a more suitable supplement to meet her AIHA needs. The problem with doing this is that I do not know what vitamins and minerals are good for her and at what doses. I know that I have to watch the vitamin A & D intake but what about the B's or iron or folic acid, etc. I'm trying to find pet-tinic in the stores but no luck thus far. If I do find it do I just follow the directions or do I alter the recommended doses due to the AIHA? Just trying to find some recommended doses and frequency of dosing with each. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Johnny & Tessy

Johnny, When my vet first contacted Dr. Dodds. She recommended Pet-tinic. It is not available in Canada, but can be ordered on line. Dr. Dodds recommended the following for Kahlu (60lbs)instead: 200mg iron 250mcg Vitamin B12 Both available at the drug or health food store 5mg Folic Acid only available with prescription as one pill I stopped the iron for 3 weeks, because we thought it could be bad for the liver. The last blood check did not show a difference in the liver enzymes, so I am giving it again. I also add 2000 mg quality fish oil (omega 3) and 500mg cranberry extract to Kahlu's food. Until a few days ago I gave him 2 250 mg capsules of Milk thistle. i read somewhere in the Archives it is better to give it right into the food, so I am doing that. Best wishes, Brigitte & Kahlu

Johnny, You can get pet tinic on line. I buy from amazon.com through EntirelyPets.com. I just had ordered for Holly and paid $7.39 a bottle, I give her good 1/2 teaspoon at night in her dinner and she licks the spoon clean. Linda
