Just some thoughts, So many people have posted here the onset of AIHA soon after vaccinations. I do think this could be a major factor in now seeing so many dogs with AIHA since they are being nuked with all of these new vaccines. I thought of this as I am watching a friends dog and may have to board her this week-end, she left me her record of shots. These shots were all given on the same day. Leptospirosis, Rabies, Bortedella, distemper, Rattlensake vaccine and one other I did not recognize. Laurie

Johnny, they were given June, I am going to talk to her about the importance of spreading the vaccines out. She knows what I went through with Wylie. Laurie

I wouldn't even think some of them are even necessary!! Lepto especially! Borte only if she plans to board him and even then?? etc. Don't forget to mention the importance of titers also. Good luck. Johnny Tessy & Sadie

Here is Dr. Dodds vaccination schedule: http://www.weim.net/emberweims/Vaccine.html I will never know what caused Kahlu's AIHA, but i highly suspect, he was over vaccinated. I did not know any better and just wanted to protect him. Of course my (then) vet recommended every vaccine on the planet, including Lyme and Giardia. Enzo has at 6 months only been vaccinated twice, once his puppy shots and then once for Parvo after the titer showed 0 immunity. He will have an other titer soon, but i suspect he will be immune this time. I warn everybody that will listen about over vaccinating dogs. Best wishes, Brigitte & the poodle boys

In my girl's case I am a minimal vaccine person. Bonnie had two vaccines as a pup + rabies. At 1 year old she had titers drawn and a rabies booster. This year as a 2 year old she just had rabies drawn no vaccines. So my 2 1/2 year old in her entire life had had 2 DHP vaccines and 2 Rabies and that is it and NO vaccines at all in the last 12 months Vaccines obviously had nothing to do with my girl's AIHA and she went from perfectly healthy and 79 lbs to dead and 56 lbs in 4 weeks :( Diane The Dogs of Frontier
