Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - update on Sofie
| Sofie had a complete CBC/Chem panel today, the first since Jan 21/08. Everything is normal. The vet said if he was looking at these results not knowing the dog, he would say he was looking at healthy normal values.We have been doing weekly PCV's in house with a slightly higher percent than the hospital one, but she is 48%, so totally normal. Sofie has gained 5 pounds since 12/22/07, she was diagnosed on 12/24/07. I am tickled with her weight, considering the high doses of Pred she was on.Plus as a 5 /12 month old puppy when she was diagnosed,she had to gain some weight. She will be 8 months old on Saturday. She is now down to 25mg once a day for another week, then will go to 25mg every other day for three weeks, then be done.... (if all blood work is normal) So wonderful to see a happy healthy puppy, doing puppy things and getting into trouble. Can't help by feel I have been blessed with her results. I went to the collar sight today, what a wonderful thing she is doing. I am ordering one for Sofie.. |

| Joanne, What happy news. Hopefully Sofie can go back to everyday normal puppyhood and these awful days will become a distant memory. Congrats! Penny |
