Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Update on Holly 6-10-08
| Well just wanted to share some fantastic news with everyone! Blood work came back in today and her hematocrit was 48.5 highest yet and her retic count went back down to 0.9 so YEAH! Don't know if you remember but last month after a full month on 3mg of prednisone and Imuran her hematocrit was good but her retic count had gone back up to 1.1, so we held another month at 3mg prednisone, only difference I split even dosages in am and pm. So now we will start another decrease on the prednisone to 2mg, 1 in am and 1 in pm and hope for another great month! Just maybe sometime soon in the next few months we will be able to go drug free, it has now been 15 months for her. So to all of you out there still fighting, sometimes it does take longer, but we just have to be patient. Linda |
