Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Update on Darcy?

Hi Karen,

Just wondering how Darcy is doing? We're thinking of you both,

Melissa,

Thank you for asking about Darcy. Right now she's doing great. Her gums, tongue, inside ears are pink. She's running around barking, begging, wagging that tail, and has a hearty appetite. The Greyhound blood from Dr. Dodds seems to agree with her and I'm think that the anabolic steroid shot has helped a lot. I'm going to contact the holistic vet in a day or two to see when she should get the next one (two out of a series of six). She's still on the 200mg. Neoral(atopica); 5mg.Prednisone; .2mg.Soloxine; PetTinic; Amino Acids; Standard Process, etc.

I'm giving praise to God for Darcy's upswing and praying that she will continue to improve so that I can take her off the meds. If her bone marrow starts producing the RBCs and holding on to them, then that might be a possibility.

Hope all is well with you and thanks so much for caring.
