Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - update on Benny

Hi Everyone, it's now 4 weeks since our little Benny was diagnosed with IMHA and then pancreatitis. I am so happy to let you all know that as of last Thursday his blood count was steady at 41.5. He is now on only 5mg of pred daily and his antacid for his tummy. He has finished all antibiotics for pancreatitis and is just like the old Benny used to be. The only thing that is different is he doesn't want to sleep on the bottom of my bed anymore!!! I think because he needs to wee so much more frequently these days... (well I hope that's the reason) I wanted to thank everybody who posted comments and I know that all your thoughts and prayers helped enormously. I am just hoping now that he is one of the lucky ones who beats this and doesn't look back. I might just let you all know that he had a lovely midnight feast the other night... we had been watching the opening ceremony of the olympics with friends (who had children) the children had chocolate and left it on the coffee table without me seeing it... so off to bed we went only to come down in the morning to see 1/2 a block of chocolate gone... straight on the phone to the vet.. luckily it just upset his tummy alittle and he was fine! Ya gotta love em!!
