Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Update of Sofie, the GSD puppy
| Just wanted to update Sofie today. It has been 4 weeks since her episode started. Luckily, with the treatment she has been getting, Pred, Doxicillian for antibiotic, and Famotide for her stomach, it has been uphill since the first day. She has never had any bouts of vomiting or diarraha, after the first day she ate, and today, her HCT was 50%. :-) She will start tomorrow on half dose of Prednisone, but keep on the Doxicillian and Famotide. Sofie is staying at her weight of 50lbs, and is active, jumping, playing and causing trouble. I am a bit nervous because of the Pred drop, but she has been in the high 38% and mid 40%'s for over 3 weeks, so time to start reducing the Pred. |
