thanks Joanne for sharing that information. It is good to see the fund doing so much good. I want so much for everyone out there to be aware of this deadly disease and if there is any way to find a cure or better treatment...........

Again, thanks for all you do
God Bless

Joanne,

I have not recently communicated directly with you since Barkley's struggle and subsequent loss has taken most of my time and emotional energy. It was one week ago today about 2 hours ago that he left for his new life and mine just isn't the same without him. I wanted to let you know, though, that my appreciation for your continued advocacy on behalf of all the dogs like my Barkle boy is as deep as ever. And I still plan to continue to try to help in my own small ways in honor of my little best friend. I have been talking with the Tibetan Terrier Rescue and Afghan Hound Rescue folks about IMHA, have asked a local pet supply chain to make brochures available to customers, am in the process of trying to get Petsmart on board to support IMHA efforts, have talked with a board member of one of our local theaters about putting on the musical "Bark" as an IMHA fund raiser, and wear my Find A Cure button everywear I go so that people will ask me about the disease. I am still working on outreach to the vets, grooming professionals, animal shelters, etc.

Thank you for being there when we have all - canine and human alike - needed you. I was sure that Barkley was going to make it onto the Success Stories page but I guess he was just content being the Success Story in my heart. When I am brave enough I plan to send a picture so that he can join the others in Rainbow Bridge...not quite there yet.

Blessings to you, Maddie and all your website friends and their furry children.

Cheryl (and always Barkley)
