| I seem to come to the site when I need information or something is going wrong...as if having a Border Collie with IMHA isn't enough!!!!! 6MONTHS!!! December 11th diagnosis- 8 day ICU hospitalization. Abscess March 31 with 1 day readmit...BUT today our now a bit more CHUBBY Black and White Border collie is still with us. Last week...PCV 45. Retic 1.7 Platelets good. White Count 18. Bells Palsy diagnosed April 15- RESOLVED!!! Still on Prednisone 30 every other, Azathioprine 50 every other, Pepcid twice a day, and still on Doxy 125 twice a day.(restarted April 15th) We have a thought that a tick illness is our evil doer. We live in an endemic area. The Bells Palsy (she couldn't blink on one side and had a mouth droop) has responded to the antibiotic. Some literature suggests a LONG course for someone immunosuppressed- with PILL POCKETS- I can do it as long as they say. I can't thank all of you enough for your time and interest. WITHOUT you, I am sure I would have gone very crazy. We know we are no way out of the woods, yet we are loving this happy dog every day...and thankful for her. I have three teenage children, that have a new love for their "sister". SO, for all who are looking for hope - here in Connecticut- we are six months from that terrible day....and hopeful. Have a great 4th!!! |
