Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Trixie is home

Well, we are home and it's great to have Trixie back :+). We spent about an hour with her vet explaining everything to us, findings/special instructions/diet/medication etc.
Trixie's PCV is still holding at 26%. The azathioprine did suppress the bone marrow (she has been on this since last September) so the white blood cells are still low, she has now started to strongly regenerate the red blood cells.
The have introduced Zantec, this is inplace of Azathioprine, she has this by mouth 2x per day.
Antepsin (liquid) 3 x per day. Aspirin 1 daily and of course Pred 1 morning and 1/2 evening. I have to take her for a blood test on Thursday to see how her blood count is, we will have the results of the PCV while we are there, the white cells test will be sent to Bristol the same day in order for the results to be through the following day. Bristol hospital will call me with the results. Natasha, Trixie's vet at the hospital said we have to keep a very careful eye on Trixie, should she relapse. I am of course, very worried that this may happen, given what I have read about this disease.
Natasha said not to take Trixie out for a walk, it's better she just goes into the back garden, as a walk might be too much, best stay close to home.
Anyway, here we are, she is very quiet, but at least she is home.

As you can see, we've each posted similar messages minutes apart! I'm waiting for her specialist to phone back but I spoke with his assistant this morning and I'm sure we'll be going back for a check-up and blood test later this week. I am cautious about her condition but still very positive that she will get stronger every day and live with this disease as if it wasn't there. What breed is your Trixie?

Hi Janet.
Trixie is a Collie x (some Retriever)
The more I read about this disease the more I hate it. Good luck with the blood tests.
