Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - To all those fighting the fires in Ca.

Hello everyone, Since being in contact with Becky about her Sam, I learned that she is in the heat of where the fires are. To her and all the others living in that area, We are keeping all of you in our prayers. Especially that they their families and their beloved fur-kids will escape harm. We pray this to the Lord and God of all creation. Dolores

Dolores,
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We were evacuated for 8 days back in the 2003 fires and know how stressful if was for our 4 dogs. So far we are not affected by the current fires and I cannot imagine how difficult it would be with a dog that is ill. My heart goes out to all that are dealing with any additional problems due to the fires.

My thoughts are with you all over in Sth California.
I lived in Orange County a few years and know how quickly fires can spread, especially when the Santa Anna's are blowing.

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. It was scary. Brought back the memories of four years ago when we lost so many homes. We were evacuated on Monday Oct 22. Sam didn’t quite have a clue what was going on, only that something was not normal. We returned home after two days away. By weeks end, most of the worst was over and most people were back in their homes, if they had one left. I spent the weekend helping friends clean up their homes and yards. Some had the fire come within 3 feet of their homes, and they lost their yard to the fire. I had friends evacuated at my house for a couple of days not knowing if they had a home to return to. Saturday they were let back into their neighborhood. 23 homes burned in their area, but theirs was still standing. We all became news junkies.
I was out of work all last week, due to roads closed and no power at work. I work with about 85 people, and almost 1/2 of us were evacuated. None lost their homes, but homes were lost in almost all of their neighborhoods.
Air quality is really bad.
The temps have stabilized, as have the winds. We are expecting more winds this weekend, but they aren’t supposed to be as bad as on Oct. 21 when they were hurricane strength.
The First Responders, National Guard and all the Firefighters did an amazing job.
Sam and I are okay.

Becky,
Glad to hear you and Sam are ok. Glad to hear no one you know lost a house but really feel for those that have. My office manager lost hers and everything that wasn't on her back in the Grand Prix fire and is still trying to get into another house. Hopefully there will not be any idiots out with matches again this weekend.
