Thank you for the comments about the story. I actually wrote it a couple months before Mikey was diagnosed/passed from AIHA. It was an odd experience to hear the vet say those words, what it was, after speaking to and writing about Melissa for quite awhile.

Needless to say, Melissa (and Tiggs' inspiration) was a wonderful help through the horrible ordeal.
