We got Honey a week ago today. Tiggs could not be more of a sweet gentleman. Honey has her own health problems, which is why we were the requested foster family. She was brought in to be euthanized, and the vet refused because she is such a sweet dog and he knew her problems were treatable. He kept her for nearly 3 months until she was well enough to come into the program that we volunteer for. She has pretty severe hypothyroid, but she's getting better everyday. Our stack of med reminder boxes is growing, but at least everyone takes their pills together! She also needs the ketochlor baths weekly. She's a doll! If this site will let me post the link, here it is. http://www.flickr.com/photos/dzinelvrslc/

Melissa, How kind of you to foster dogs. I know better because I would become too attached to let them be adopted. She looks like such a sweetie I hope she finds her forever home. Penny

I really enjoyed seeing the photos of Honey and Tiggs they are both absolutely adorable. I have had about 25 foster dogs over the last 5 years and yes it is very hard to let them go, but it is easier when you know they are going to a great home and unfortunately there are so many more that need our help. I have to admit fostering is how I ended up with 3 Goldens, so yes they do have a tendency to grow on you. A BIG THANKS from Cheryl and Ginger for helping Honey out.

Awwwwww how sweet! Are they boxer mixes? I have a goofy boxer girl named Roxy who keeps us all on out toes here! You are so awesome to open your heart and home to a special needs dog. Hats off to you and Tiggs! Honey is a real beauty! Amy

Loved the photos!!! I did canine foster care for a number of years myself and know how these wonderful dogs can steal your heart.

Thanks all! Amy, Tiggs is a pittie mix, and Honey is straight up pittie. Poor girl is going through some real separation anxiety when we leave her. She ate her way through a metal kennel last night, escaped, and cut her head. Thank God it wasn't too bad, but I'm afraid next time it could be worse. It's great to know some of you have also fostered! I am enjoying it, though we certainly have a lot of issues (separation, medical, etc), and our older dog is unfortunately dog-aggressive, so that adds another element. Yayy for doggie chaos :)
