Greetings to all, I hope those of you who live in the USA had a great Thanksgiving holiday. Now that the holiday season is upon us I wanted to remind you all to please make the Meisha’s Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at Morris Animal Foundation (MAF) http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/newhope.htm a part of your holiday giving plans. There are many ways that you can do this. The first is by making a direct gift to the Fund. That can be done by filling in the special donation form made especially for the Meisha’s Hope Fund http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/donationform.htm and mailing it to MAF at the address located on the form. Just as a side note, MAF moved to their new headquarters in mid October so if have donated with the donation form previously and see a new address that is the reason why. If you choose to donate online, that can be done at the following URL: http://www.morrisanimalfoundation.org/donate/giving/difference/?section=1,1 Be sure to check the “Meisha’s Hope” box on the online donation form. Another way to help the Meisha’s Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at MAF this holiday season and all year long is to purchase products from the great New Hope Partners. The New Hope Partners are business persons who have chosen to donate a percentage of the proceeds from the products they sell to the Meisha’s Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at MAF. At the current time there are 4 New Hope Partners. They are : Tom Sierak’s prints The Truman Collar The Kindred Spirits Gift Shop The Foot and Paw Company You can learn more about these wonderful products and find links to the Web sites they are sold on by clicking on the links at the bottom of the New Hope Page: http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/newhope.htm So far the Meisha’s Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 has sponsored or cosponsored several studies on AIHA/IMHA that appear to have promising results. However many of these studies are multi- year studies so we need to have more money if these studies are to continue. To those of you who have donated in the past to the Meisha’s Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at MAF, thank you so very much. I know some of you donate each and every month and that commitment is so very appreciated. Some of you can only donate from time to time and your gifts are appreciated so much as well. To those of you who have never donated to the AIHA/IMHA Fund at MAF, I urge you to do so this holiday season. I am convinced we WILL find answers to the many questions that surround AIHA/IMHA but we need the help of each and every person whose life has been touched by the disease. Hugs to all the canine kids from my little red headed canine gal, Maddie and me.

I purchased one of the Truman Collars for Daisy...they are great. There are so many choices so you can gear it for your dog.

If Vet/hospitalization costs weren't so prohibitive perhaps more of us could contribute. I am up to $9,000 in vet bills after 14 months of treatments and in debt from the enormity of this disease. Would be nice if the veterinary hospitals would hear your plea, Joanne. Most of us who commnicate on this board are working folks who are overwhelmed with the fee structures associated with transfusions, cbc's, medications and hospitalizations. Perhaps mjor cultivation for Maddie's Fund is best accomplshed through grant entities. Personally, I will take no vacation for several years with my AIHA expense debt, nor will I be able to afford very much in the way of extranneous expense including many xmas presents. That's just the way it is. My Choe is number one priority. I hope you understand that no doubt many of us are in the same boat. Jan

I totally agree with you Jan. We are close to $8,000 in hospital, vet & medication bills with Holly and this is only since March of this year. We adopted Holly as a rescue dog and had no choice but to take on this expense as we fell in love with her just after 3 months of having her. We struggle every day just to make ends meet. Linda

Jan & Linda, I applaud your sense of responsibility to both your canine kids and the payment of your vet bills. Neither MAF or I would ever want someone to neglect their canine family members to donate. Since I lived with AIHA for nearly 10 years I am so very aware of how much this disease can cost. The info in this post is presented merely as a giving opportuinity for those who are able to donate and/or purchase products from the NEW HOPE partners and both MAF and I know that is not everyone. Please Hug those canine kids for me. They are so lucky to have such dedicated moms looking out for them.

Hi What is a Truman Collar?
Cheryl & Ginger Pineville PA
Cheryl, You can learn about The Truman Collar at this URL http://www.thetrumancollar.com/ Debby, the creator of the Truman Collar lost her dog to AIHA/IMHA a few years ago and decided to help in the fight against the disease by contributing to the Meisha's Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at Morris Animal Foundation. Since she did not have a lot of money to do so she decided to make and sell collars with 25% of the purchase price of each collar sold going to the Meisha's Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at MAF. To date Debby and Truman Collar have donated over $10,000 to the Meisha's Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at MAF. Debbie is totally amazing person and she is a powerful example of what ONE person can do. You can read an inteview with Debby, the creator of the Truman Collar, at this URL http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/dfinterview.htm and purchase some of these great collars at http://www.thetrumancollar.com/
