Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Tessy update

Well, Tessy has relapsed with the cancer again (lymphoma). I've been trying to treat it holistically the past couple weeks but it isn't working. She's progressively getting worse and is now refusing some foods. Enter Worried Dad Syndrome! :(

If you can spare any extra vibes they'd be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for not being around as much as I'd like but this has taken up so much of my time. My thoughts and prayers are ALWAYS with you all and your furbabies though.

Thanks
Johnny & Tessy

Dear Johnny,
Please don't apologize for not being here for others at this time. Now is the time for you to be there for Tessy. You have done so much for everybody here, I know everyone will send as many good thoughts, vibes and prayers as they can!
I know that Tessy would not be here anymore if it would not be for you, she is so fortunate to have you by her side. But knowing you, you will say that you are fortunate to have her:) Maybe there is an other miracle in store for her, maybe there is not. I know you will take it one day at a time and enjoy every minute you have with her.
I am thinking of you, sending all the positive vibes for Tessy and still believing in miracle number three!
Best wishes as always,

Hi Johnny and Tessy,
Just logged in to see how things are going? Hope she is still eating and wagging her tail

I decided to restart the same protocol we did last round with a couple modifications (Madison Wisconsin Protocol). She had her first treatment yesterday and thus far is responding as expected. Too early to tell yet if it's resistant but the fingers (and paws) are crossed. I gave her a cheaper chemo med last week which seemed to work for a few days but that was it.
She's a real trooper the little sweetheart. She peed all over the tech when they took her back to put the iv in her! :( Not to mention the puppy eyes she gave me when they were walking away from me.
She always has a lot to say to everyone in the vet. I don't know if she's warning the other dogs or just trying to let everyone know she's there. LOL She runs around like she owns the place...which considering the amount I spent on her the past few years we *should* own at least part of the hospital by now. Surprisingly enough she actually gained weight over the past few months and now she weighs a wopping 38 lbs!!!! Yup, my little porky!

Thanks everyone for all the thoughts and prayers. They're greatly appreciated!

HUGS,
Johnny & Tessy

Hello Johnny,

Hi Johnny and Tessy,
Enjoyed your update about Tessy at the vets, not the medication side of things as I am sure thats tough but I could visualise Tessy acting as if she owns the place! Take care,

Johnny,
Glad to see that Tessy is still running the show. I would think you would own the entire place by now not just part of it. Hopefully this is just a setback period and Tessy will once again defy the odds. Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.

Johnny,

It has been a long while since I signed on here. I am saddened to read your latest post. You and Tessy are so strong, together you two can get through this most recent hurdle. She is a proven fighter, and with you by her side (and Sadie from up above) I know she will continue to fight this. First IMHA, and on her second run in with cancer - third time's a charm. Sending heartfelt wishes of another victory from the west coast. Keeping you both in our thoughts and prayers.
