| Great News! TC continues to improve, up to 42. He is still weak, and his neck is scrawny but he is doing so much better. I will be taking him to a holistic vet next week to be sure we are doing all we can to return him to health. Thanks to all for your post's, so encouraging and helpful. |

| But also check out the Liver section at Mary Straus's excellent website dogaware. http://www.dogaware.com/specific.html It's important to realize that high liver enzymes are most often due to high prednisone doses (unless there were underlying liver issues before) and will drop quickly when the drug is withdrawn. We are down to 5mg pred a day and Chance's liver enzymes have almost returned to normal. Good nutritional support is very important during AIHA. I fed him a widely varied diet of good (cooked) proteins and small quantities of cooked veggies all pureed together. He has returned to his normal weight and it putting on muscle tissue quickly.
