| Hi, Does anyone know what a T331 Path review of CBC is?? Holly had her blood work done today and as far as I knew was suppose to be superchem, cbc and retic per Dr Dodds, when I went to pay the bill of course this extra charge for $35 was added on for this T331 path review of cbc. I asked the girl and she was suppose to have the tech call me back to explain and of course no phone call. All they would say is that the Dr ordered it. These vets really annoy me just racking up charges that we don't know what are for. Linda |

| Linda, I believe this is an Antech code for a pathology review of blood smear. The T331 is a test code identifier. Having a technician review a blood smear will be a visual check of the types and numbers of cells in the smear. The auto analyzer may not identify all the cells properly so this could be a way to do it more accurately. Pathology means determining what type of cells are in the sample and making an educated determination of what condition those cells could indicate. For instance, some red cells may be smaller and spherical rather than biconcave like a normal rbc. These are called spherocytes and can indicate AIHA. | Linda, Here is the link from Antech site which does confirm Patrice's idea that the T331 is just their test code. http://www.antechdiagnostics.com/clients/serviceDirectory/quickRef/hemaCoag.htm If the link doesn't work just search Antech for their website. Penny |

| Thanks guys, Patrice, that link was very interesting! I am posting a new post on Holly's test and in her blood work a little section by the vet at Antech stating no spherocytes seen nor none blood parasites and that she agreed with the reported results and nothing new seen on the scanning slide. Thanks, Linda |
