she has been home since tuesday night and been doing quite well i must say... a few episodes of vomiting on wed but since then its been a good situation. she is eating happily and seems to be gaining minimal strength... we got the bone marrow aspirate results back, and NO CANCER OR LEUKEMIA!!! that was my vets/our biggest fear. she is also still holding strong to a PCV of 24! tough girl i tell ya!

| Josh, I am so glad to hear the aspirate results on Sway. And even more glad to hear that she is doing better. She might just be one of those dogs whose PCV takes FOREVER to increase. Unfortunately, it does a number on your nerves but for her still to be fighting this after all the rough times is a gift in itself. Keep up the fight and hoping the good news will continue! | Josh: Great news. What is the name of the Steroid that you gave her? Do you think this is what is turning her around? Drago is slipping, I can see it daily. Tomorrow night we go for our weekly blood draw and I want to discuss this with her vet. Please let me know. Also is she on any other meds? I love her dearly as you do you Sway and since they are both pits I know that fight is in Dra also. Please let me know. Give Sway a steak for me and some hugs. You also need a big pat on the back for all you have done!!! |

Sue- the anabolic steroid is called Durabolin (Nandrolone) email me if you need more info on it... only thing is you are going to have to get creative on how you get it, because it is illegal in this country due to athlete's & etc abusing it.

I am so happy for you-I've been praying.

my girl still seems to be doing good, altho she didnt eat this morning but hopefully that isnt something that will snowball into another all out refusal

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. Tonight is another blood draw. I think she is fading and I don't know what else to do. Like you said the other day I gave her my ok to pass if she wants. I am tearing up now can't talk.

Last week she was at 27. Just home at lunch and she is weak. My e-mail is drago1.1@juno.com. My computer is sporatically working that is why I do this at work. Hopefully by Friday night my computer will be fixed. Thursday AM I am giving it to a guy I work with to look at and he hopefully said it will be back to me by Fri. I am going to question my vet tonight about the steriod and some homopathic remedies. thanks alot to all of you. Lots of hugs to Sway and buy steak it does wonders for the apetite.

Hey: I won't do anything illegal to get this. Unless there is some generic brand or something compreable I won't do anything illegal to get this. That won't do Drago anygood. But Thanks for the Thought.

thats the thing though... it WILL do drago good. its been cracked down on because humans abuse it. when it comes to serving a purpose medically it is fine, you just need to have the ability to prove you are using it for a legit reason (which you are and could easily prove) and thats under the assumption anyone ever said anything about it, which chances are 99% in favor of it not even being an issue. but anyways, i sent you the email that pat sent me... it came from my work address at pacific life.

Sue -- Drago's PCV of 27 isn't that bad, although it needs to be in the upper 30s to be closer to norms. Is she regenerating? Does the vet think it's time to try another med? How are her other vitals? How is her behavior? Is she eating? Is she responsive to you? I think it would be good for you to contact Dr. Dodds, whose contact info you can get from people on the forum. Dr. Dodds is so knowledgeable in the field, and if you could get a second opinion from her, after reviewing Drago's vitals and medications, that would give you a sense of what lies ahead. I'll keep you and Drago in my thoughts and prayers. You both are fighters.
