Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Sway update 2/13/08

just thought i would give an update...
no real news to report, which i guess if you put that into context could be a good thing.

her PCV still has not risen, but it is holding so that is a blessing.

we are still at 20% and she is doing pretty good on the outside.
the shape of her head has yet to fill back out but the rest of her body has recouperated and she is back up to about 35 lbs, which is normal.

i took some great pictures of us up in the mountains, i will post them later tonight :)

also, just wanted to wish everyone well.
i havent been posting nearly as much as i was at the beginning but i pray for every puppy & owner dealing with these harsh circumstances.

Josh, thanks for the up-date on Sway. Good to hear her weight is up. Duck didn't lose the Skeletor look until we got down into the low doses of prednisone.

Look forward to seeing Sway's pictures. Take care.

Josh,
Glad to hear your girl is hanging in there. I am looking forward to seeing her pictures as well. That is strange that her numbers just stay but it is also a positive too. Is she able to get around normally?
Go Sway!

John-
Holding steady is good news. Definitely beats her sliding backwards...

Josh and Sway,
I think of you two often.. I seem to be havig a hard time revsiting this site lately, but you two have touched a place in my heart and it gives me such great joy to see how well YOU BOTH are doing..Survivors you are my friends!! My new Saint Bernard Ronan has been my saving grace. My husband swears that our Angus has come back in his body... He is a Mommas boy, iI cant leave the room without him crying for me. He has helped greatly with my awful loss. My other 3 dogs have taken to Ronan just fine, and once again my female sheperd Elsa has a baby to take care of. Ronan is now 7 months and about 130lbs.. If I can ever figure out how to do it I will send some pics of hime.. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. Whata team you are Patty
