my girl was able to stand herself up on her own on friday, since then she just keeps gaining shades of her strength back altho we still have long ways to go. still no regeneration, but still no drop in her count... holding steady @ 20-25% she is also able to fully support her weight and walks around pretty normally. meds have been reduced all the way down to 10mg pred & 50 cyclo every other day...day off in between. she was all the way down to 25 lbs, from 45...but is gaining some shape and is eating pretty good lately. she will be re-tested concerning her sky high kidney levels on saturday... hopefully that was a fluke and something that instead came about due to the heat stroke she had a month ago. i am hoping to see the levels back to normal, praying...i dont want kidney failure to be something that rears its head on top of all of this. we will also get another PCV draw then.

Josh, Great pictures of Sway, what a beautiful girl! It is still good that she is holding at the same range and not dropping, all you and her can both do is one day at a time and as long as she is able she will keep on fighting. Good thing that she is eating now again, and able to stand, those are the baby steps she need to take. Our prayers are with Sway to get stronger each and every day. Linda

Josh, I'm so glad to hear Sway is holding her own. She is a beautiful girl. Its so nice when they finally start eating again .... just be careful, she's gonna end up looking like my Monster, a fat little sausage! That's all Monster does any more, eat! Good luck and keep up the good work! Jenelle & Monster

thanks everyone :) jenelle - lol @ fat lil sausage...i would love for sway to get to 'lil sausage' status!!! because she was very much skin and bones to the extreme...i think she has gained atleast 5 pounds, her tummy is always full now. her skull is still cone shaped and all bones tho, hopefully that starts to take normal shape again. linda, yup one day at a time is really the speed that AIHA sets you at...its crazy but i think this process has helped my overall patience very well about the fires- we are safe, annnnd thank God for that. i live basically inbetween LA and SD, so almost all the fires are north and south of me, except 1 or 2. its really horrible and sad, there is so many of them burning. the biggest problem that we have is just the horrible air quality. the soot carries in the air and ashes end up in my apartment like a super version of dust. not good when sway already has issues breathing... its be 90+ since sunday but that has subsided and its around 70ish now which is good for everyone.

Hey Josh, Good luck with the cbc! I have a hard time believing that Sway isn't regenerative after holding steady for so long. Hoping to see those reticulocytes on your test.. Praying for good kidney values too. We are testing too and I think I am going to see some amazing numbers. We made it up to the woods today for the long 45 min walk and ran home. Haven't done that with Chance since late April. Patrice
