Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Sue and Ernie

Sue and Ernie,
How did the blood test go. Does your vet have to send them away like they do in our vets. Fingers crossed for you both.

Ps,
We went across the fields tonight on our usual walk,.... there are usually 14 miniature shetland ponies in the field, they quite like us as we bring carrots, but tonight there were about 100 sheep just around the corner aswell!!!! He doesn't chase them, which is just aswell .....they just ran straight past us !!!

One woman and her dog....10/10

Hi Jackie
Ern's blood test was fine. RBC at 6.2, pcv 44. reduced his pred dosage by 25% now and he'll have another blood test on Friday. Our vet does his blood tests in house so I usually get the results the same day. The only one they had to send away was his very first one when he was diagnosed. His levels then were so far outside the normal range that the in house test couldn't get an accurate result. He was being a bit sick a couple of days last week so he's now on Antepsin as well as his pred and the sickness has stopped. Good to know Jasper is still doing well and enjoying his walks. Ern is a bit of a neurotic little lad and cries if there's a hedgehog in his garden. God only knows what he'd do if a sheep or a pony looked at him!
