Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Steve' s Tasha hospitalized

As many of you know this is the weekend for Race for Hope at Lime Rock Park in CT. Steve left Virginia early this morning to travel to CT for the weekend events. He had hoped to take Tasha with him but since she was not doing well this week, she stayed home with his wife. I spoke with Steve’s wife earlier today and she told me Tasha was not doing well at all so she was going to take her in to the veterinary clinic. Later I received 2 phone calls from Steve telling me that Tasha is now being hospitalized and is on oxygen and antibiotics as well as receiving a blood transfusion and fluids. It appears Tasha is in very serious condition at this time.

Please remember Steve, his wife and Tasha in your thoughts and prayers at this time. It is so difficult to go though these hard times when you can be with your dog and family in person but to be so far from home and have to deal with these circumstances is overwhelming. Steve has stepped up to the plate to raise awareness of AIHA/IMHA as well as to raise funds to sponsor studies on the disease so lets all keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

I will try and provide later updates on Tasha as I hear from Steve.

Steve & Marjorie.
I am so sorry to hear that Tasha is back in hospital.
I know how difficult it must be for Steve to be at the races while Tasha is having difficulties. My thoughts and prayers will be with you all.

Many prayers for Tasha, Steve and family. Some of you may know of the gratefulness.org candle site..... now would be a wonderful time to harness the power of all of us and support Steve and family like they are working hard to do for all our AIHA babies.
