I thought I would share some good news and some hope for a change. My English Springer just passes his 4 yr anniversary since the initial diagnosis and we just had a complete CBC done. It's been a while since we have had this done. PCV is 46 percent and as a quote from his vet " his blood work is amazing" 2 paws up for Spencer!!!!!!!!!! Kim and Spencer

Congratulations Kim and Spencer!! I am curious how old Spencer was at diagnosis and is he still on meds? Thanks for sharing your good news! Chris & Alex

Spencer was 4 upon the original diagnosis. He is still on 100mg neoral daily and 75mg azio 2x a week. He is one of those dogs that needs the meds to maintain his PCV. Luckily, he hasn't had any long term side effects so far. He is on Joanne's site in the May 2007 success stories if you want to take a look at his journey. Thanks for the congrats. Kim

Kim, what fabulous and positive news Go Spencer! My girl Belle is 6yrs old and 6 weeks into this cruel illness. Our Specialist said yesterday she is starting to move into remission. Her PCV was 10 before she had a blood transfusion 4 weeks ago, yesterdays reading was 35 to quote the lab report "anemia almost resolved". We still have a long way to go as her meds are starting to be reduced and it's early days yet. Thanks for sharing your inspiring news it's just what i needed. Hugs from Effie and Belle Thanks so much for your inspiring news

Kim and Spencer==that's really great news to read after the week I've had. Way to go! That is so wonderful for you!! Was a regular vet treating him, or did you take him to a specialist? Effie--that is great news to hear, too, on Belle almost in remission. My heart and prayers are with all of you, my wonderful new friends.

Kim, What great news about Spencer. I am so very happy for you both. When you have time please send me an email with a brief update on Spencer and I will add it to his Success Story. I think it is so important to keep the Success Stories as up-to-date as possible and so I try to do updates as often as I can. However since there are now so many Success Stories, it is hard for me to do that as often as I would like. Big hugs to Spencer from both me and my little canine red-headed gal, Maddie. For anyone who is interested in reading Spencer's Success Story you can do so at the following URL http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/archives18.htm scroll down to the May story once you reach this page.

Hi Johnny, thank you for your kind words slow and steady is our motto ( hope that's not just an Australian word)! I am not getting ahead of myself as things always have a way of turning. Have just come back from the vet as he helps with Belle's pills, i mentioned to him her urine looked dark orange in colour so we had another blood test done. I am now waiting for those results. As they say two steps forward one step back Hugs to you and Tessy from me and Belle.
