| We have discussion on here from time to time in regard to research into AIHA/IMHA and many wonder why more is not being done. In a word the answer is money or lack thereof. Research is very expensive and most of it is done with money that is donated by persons just like you and me. When we lost our dear Meisha just a bit over 7 years ago we knew we wanted to do something to make a difference in the situation with AIHA/IMHA so we contacted Morris Animal Foundation and started the Meisha’s Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338. In the 6 ˝ years the Fund has been in existence it has sponsored or cosponsored several studies on the disease, some of which are still ongoing including the one from this year called “Tissue Factor - A New Approach to Thrombosis in Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia”, at Cornell. This is a two year study and we will need many more dollars to fund the second year of this study as well as other studies that will become available next year. Due to the huge cost of dealing with AIHA/IMHA we knew early on that we could not solely depend on donations from individuals to raise the funds we needed to sponsor studies on AIHA/IMHA. Thankfully some wonderful people have stepped up to the plate and are donating part of the proceeds from the products they sell to the Meisha’s Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at MAF. We call these wonderful people the “New Hope Partners”. These partners sell a variety of items. You can learn about the New Hope Partners on the New Hope Page at the Meisha’s Hope Web site: http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/newhope.htm Today I am thrilled to mention the latest New Hope Partner, Bronwyn’s Biscuits: http://www.bronwynsbiscuits.com/ Elizabeth, the creator of Bronwyn’s Biscuits posts on this forum from time to time. She mentioned the biscuits a few months ago and I know several of you contacted her at that time and ordered some of these great biscuits. I just placed my third order for the biscuits and will be giving some of them to many of my friends this holiday season who have dogs. 10% of the proceeds from Bronwyn’s Biscuits go to the Meisha’s Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at MAF. Be sure to read Bronwyn’s story when you visit the Web site listed above. If you still need a gift for someone this holiday season I urge you to check out the Meisha’s Hope New Hope Page http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/newhope.htm and select a gift from one of these fine caring businesses. This page also has info on how you can make a direct gift to the Meisha’s Hope AIHA/IMHA fund either by mail or online at the Morris Animal Web site. Know that you can make a difference in the fight against AIHA/IMHA by shopping with the New Hope Partners or a direct gift to the Meisha’s Hope Fund at Morris Animal Foundation. Hugs to all the canine kids from me and my little red headed canine gal, Maddie. |

| I received my Truman holiday collars for Ginger and my other two dogs today and I must say they are REALLY cute and well made. Besides being cute 25% of sales are donated to the Morris Animal Foundation in Truman's memory. I just ordered them on Thursday so I don't think it is too late to place a holiday order. If you need help with a sizing or choosing a collar Debby was very helpful. You won't be disappointed! www.thetrumancollar.com Cheryl & Ginger |
