| We'd like to start by saying that even though we haven't posted much lately we still check in regularly and we always keep everyone and their furkids in our thoughts and prayers. And we really appreciate all of the support and encouragement we have received from everyone on this board. Sheba (now approx. 12 1/2 to 13, first diagnosed April 2008) had her routine 3 month check up yesterday and her numbers were great. PCV was 45.69 - up a full point since last time. Mid December will mark the one year anniversary of when we went fully meds free so we are very pleased! Other than her weight (a constant battle but that's our fault!), a dry nose (apparently common in older Cocker Spaniels - a sign that while she might look like a GSD, she definitely inherited a Cocker's immune system issues) and the continued rear leg weakness (age, arthritis, weight and side effect of the pred), she's doing very well. Loves the colder weather and getting out for a mile walk during the day on weekends and of course her treats! We just wanted to share our good news and hope it serves as some encouragement for those who are just starting out on this long, stressful journey. Again, thanks to everyone on this board - you have been a great source of strength for us. Happy holidays! Rita, Mike and Sheba |

| Rita, I always enjoy reading updates. Glad to hear Sheba is doing so well aside from the age issues and of course the effects from the meds. Congrats on the upcoming 1 yr mark. Penny |
