I wanted to share some good news, i have read the post on this site almost daily looking for advice, reassurance, understanding and comfort. The reality of this horrible disease is that you never know the outcome. Today will be Charlie's first official day of REMISSION! Today will be his first official day with out any medication. This journey started over 4 months ago and at times I questioned if i should continue the treatment as some of Charlie's bad days were horrible, not to mention the cost and time it required. Charlie looks great, coat shiney, toenails growing, has gained 22 lbs since his lowest weight while sick, he is hyper and happy but when i asked the vet yestereday if it was okay to say he is cured, she stopped me and said remission. I don't think we can ever completely get away from this disease and the effects it has on everyone involved but today we are living in remission and i wanted to share this good news with you all. I will continue to read the post and look for more success stories and offer my prayers when success is not a part. The only lasting damage Charlie has is a continual stuffy nose - there is no drainage and no indication in bloodwork that he has an infection, it looks like he just suffered some damage during this disease/treatment. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Congratulations Charlie! And good work not giving up on your guy. We as caregivers suffer as well, and you need to be recognized for your dedication and sacrifice. Our furry friends are absolutely worth it.

Great news! Way to go Charlie. May you continue in better health. Our fur babies are worth it! We spent way over $10,000.00. When asked if we had to do it again, would we? HECK YES! They are family.
