Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Rosie Update (Doxie)

Went to vet today still good news!! PCV was 48 now to 49. They dropped pred. to 2.5 a day for 4wks then check again. Thanks for everyone telling me to take it slow it makes sense to me now that its something I need to do. I havent even seen my vet since this first happened. I just talk to his assistants threw what he says. Without knowing what cause this in the first place its hard to believe she is even sick in the first place. She is packing on the weight so need to start figuring how to watch that better, as she eats anything she can find or sniff out.. food or non food things. She's a slender(not) 17 pounds now. Should be around 10-12lbs.

Pam, that is great news about Rosie. As far as the eating Coco was the same way, everytime I had her in the car she had her nose in the backs of the seats looking to see if the kids had dropped anything(normally old fries). I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers..Kelly

Hi Pam,

What a great PCV - congratulations to you both!
I am also relieved you opted to go down slowly, it can't hurt to be cautious.

Reducing the Pred will help with the appetite, hopefully Rosie can get back to her svelte little self in no time!
