| Our 3 year old Rotty, Bobby, was diagnosed with Rocky Mountain Fever 2 weeks ago. He was finally diagnosed by a specialist, after being misdiagnosed by our regular vet for over two months, during which time he suffered horribly. Bobby was immediately put on Doxycycline after his diagnosis. He's been on his medication for two weeks now, but he still cries every day like he is in pain, he has trouble getting up after laying down, and is very week in his back end even though his hips were cleared. Does anyone know how long it takes for dogs to get better from this TBD? Is there anything we can do to make him more comfortable? We know that this type of TBD can cause neurological damage if it goes untreated for too long, so we are not sure if he will ever get any better. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You |

| Jey, I am so sorry to hear about Bobby. I hate tick diseases. I am, however, glad that you have a diagnosis. That is so important because now you have a treatment and a way to measure the success. I could sit here and type a whole lot of stuff, but my friend Gil does this so much better when it comes to tick diseases.
