Great news, no cancer!! so the growths are all benign. before the operation her pcv was up to 42 and dropped to 34 after. On Monday she was back up to 37. Now if we can get the ALT down, the pred caused it to go up to 600, this was last checked on her surgery day. We have lowered the pred to 5 mg every other day and she will be rechecked on Monday when she gets her stitches out. Hopefully this dose will help with the PCV but also not make her ALT go up any further. Laurie

Laurie, Excellent news! Probably was a hematoma then. Alt will go up in addition to alkp. It may not go down right away, worry less about this and more on keeping the pcv stable. The liver, if only responding to prednisone, in most cases will recover from the side effects of the drug once it is reduced in dosage. Support the liver with Country Life Liver Support Factors that has silymarin (essence of milk thistle) as one of it's ingredients. We also use Sam-e over the counter, excellent liver support. patrice

Laurie, That is great news. It must have been a big relief to hear that. Good luck to you and Wylie. Penny
