| Hi all, Been a long time since I have posted, but I have been keeping up with the post's. We lost our schnauzer Schotzie to AIHA in Oct of '03. What a terrible experience. I remember that one of the bad things for dogs is onions. Our present schnauzer (Maggie) is a fussy eater and we have been cooking rice flavored with chicken or beef buillon, and mixing a teaspoon of the rice with her 2/3 cup of food. BUT I noticed the buillon contains onion powder. Is the powder as bad as the whole piece of onion, should we stop using the buillon? I need your help & advise please. THANKS, Dave |

| Dave, if it were me, I would not use the bullion. Not only because of the onion, but there is usually salt and possibly MSG in those. If you want more flavor in that rice maybe throw in some hamburger or chicken backs. Don't feed the cooked chicken bones though! Raw chicken backs are great, but not the cooked ones. Rice does not have a lot of nutrition for dogs. Here is a great website on foo, I got from Patrice: http://www.dogaware.com/diet/index.html Best wishes, Brigitte |
