Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Race for HOPE update

Steve asked me to give you all an update on the Race for Hope car in today’s race at Lime Rock park. I was able to view the live timing and scoring on the Grand AM site and let me tell you, it was one EXCITING race. Because of Saturday’s qualifying results the #18 Race for Hope car started out in the number 14 position today. It soon moved up and remained in the number 10-12 position for a good part of the race. Near the end of the race, it moved up to the number 6 place. However near the last few laps the car needed to go in for fuel and fell into a position in the 20’s. Driver Tom Miller, was able to gain back some of this ground and the car finished in the number 14 position, which is remarkable for the first running of this car. I talked to Steve a half hour after the end of the race and he said the car was only a fraction of a second out of the number 13 position. Steve and crew will be heading back to VA later today. The car will go back to W. VA to be worked on again and the fuel capacity will be increased.

The next race for this car is on June 15th in Ontario.

Today’s race will be broadcast on SPEED TV on Saturday, May 31st. At the present there is a bit of confusion as to the actual broadcast time. The Grand AM site says 8 PM eastern time, while SPEED TV says 11 PM eastern time. If you are interested in seeing this race broadcast on SPEED TV on Saturday May 31st checkout SPEED TV
