Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Race for Hope Page updated

Greetings to all,

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I have updated the “Race for Hope” AIHA/IMHA Awareness & Fund Raising page at the Meisha’s Hope Web site. This page now has links to both the Morris Animal Foundation and Marcus Motorsport Press releases on the Race for Hope Initiative. There is also a link on this page to a new page on the “Race for Hope” 5K Run and Mutt Strut that will be held at the Lime Rock Park Raceway on Sunday May 25th.
The URL of the Race for Hope page is:

http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/raceforhope.htm

I would encourage anyone who is in the eastern part of the USA (or those in other parts of the country who like to travel) to seriously consider being a part of the 5K Run or Mutt Strut to help raise awareness and money for more studies into AIHA/IMHA.

The 5K Run and Mutt Strut page has a link at the bottom of the page to another page where you can preregister for the events.

Joanne,
Thanks for posting this. I clicked on the link that takes you to the "Race for Hope Benefit Items" web site, and wanted to donate so Matilda's name would be in a paw print - and also wanted to purchase shirts/hats, etc. When I clicked on the link that takes me to the Morris Animal Foundation I got confused. Is this were I post a donation -and purchase items?

thanks for helping me - i'm a little technology challenged today!

Jeanne,

This is the URL you want to go to:

http://www.marcusmotorsports.com/marketplace.html

to get a paw print with Matilda's name on and purchase shirts and hats.

When you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will find directions on how to place your order and where to send your check.

The check is to be made out to Morris Animal Foundation with Fund #338 in the memo line and sent to

motorsport technology group
ATTN: Meisha's Hope benefit apparel
4104 Eubank Road
Richmond, Virginia 23231

Steve then passes all the checks on to Morris Animal Foundation where they will be used to help sponsor studies on AIHA/IMHA

Just one more thought, be sure to send a note that says you want Matilda's name on a paw print along with the items and size of those items that you want to purchase along with your check. Include your contact info such as phone number or email so Steve or someone from his office can contact you if they have any questions in regard to your order.

Does anyone know if the t-shirts will have the IMHA design/logo on them? Not that it matters just wondered!

This is wonderful!

I'm writing out my check now!!

THANK YOU STEVE!!

Dear Joanne -- thanks for the update. I, too, will be sending my check to Steve to support his efforts in addition to my usual monthly check directly to MAF. Next week marks the third anniversary of Wiley's coming down with IMHA, and on 19 May it will be the third anniversary of her passing. I would love to get a paw print with her name on it.

This effort still just blows me away.

I'm on the way to the vet with Tasha this morning but wanted to answer your question Crissy. The Race for Hope logo is on the front and "Mutt Strutter" with paw prints on the back. Colors are white, blue, yellow and green. The hats are blue with orange paw print.

I just wanted to make a couple of comments about the shirts and hats that Steve mentioned in his post on this thread, as per my conversation with Steve this morning. The “Mutt Stutter” shirts and the paw print hats are currently on order. Steve expects delivery on these items as follows: Shirts, May 15th, hats May 19th. Once these items arrive they will be photographed and appear on Steve’s Web site. The shirts are available for a $20.00 donation to the Meisha’s Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at Morris Animal Foundation and the Hats are available for a $25.00 donation to the Meisha’s Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at Morris Animal Foundation. You may order these items from Steve now and they will be sent to you as soon as they arrive.

Directions on how to place your order and where to send your check can be found at this Web site:

The check is to be made out to Morris Animal Foundation with Fund #338 in the memo line and sent to:

Joanne - thanks for the information & all you do!
and Steve - thanks for doing this!

I have decided that my vet and his technicians are all going to get T-shirts as a thank you for all they have done for Matilda - as well as my family. What a wonderful way to inform people of this horrible disease and to fight against it.

Just a further update: you can now see a picture of the Race for Hope t shirts on Steve's Web site:

These shirts are so COOL. Can't wait till I am able to "strut around" in mine. And remember every penny from these shirts goes to the Meisha's Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at Morris Animal Foundation to sponsor studies on AIHA/IMHA:
