This Sunday will be the final race of the season for the Meisha's Hope #18 BMW at VIR. The race begins Sunday at 11am and ends at 5pm. Live timing and scoring will be available on the Grand Am website. The weekend starts for us with a test day on Thursday. After that we are hosting a go-race to raise money for the Meisha's Hope Fund #338 @ The Morris Animal Foundation. We have a had alot of donations from some very generous people and companies. Cru-Vin Dogs Wine Group, CDOC, Virginia International Raceway, Texas Steakhouse, Dr. Marty Becker, The Lodge at VIR, and Banfield. If I forgot anyone please let me know. Paul and Rachel from MAF will be on hand to help sell shirts, hats and decals. With their support we hope to have a very profitable weekend for the foundation. Also some guests from Vet Net will be joining us as well and we look forward to meeting them in person. Friday is a scheduled practice day and Saturday will be qualifying. I believe that all of the practice on Friday will be on live timing and scoring and qualifying on Saturday will be live as well. If you miss this one, you'll have to wait until January 2009 to watch us again. Steve

Steve, We won't get in to Raleigh until Saturday evening but will see you Sunday morning. I was screaming at my t.v. while watching the New Jersey race when the announcers said you were racing for canine cancer. Hopefully with all the effort you have put forth to bring AIHA awareness to the fore front, someday others will not have to know the pain we have all been through. Thank you so much for everything you have done. Penny

I heard what the announcers said as well. I was extremely upset after speaking with them at great length in Birmingham. I can only assume that the researchers gave them the information. It also amazes me that they keep calling the car a roadster, when it is pretty obvious that the car is a coupe. Penny, Try and get to the track early on Sunday so that we have some time to chat and for you to meet the team. I'm only a small part in what we do. All the guys and gals really try to spread the word. Dr. Daugherty will be there too. Even with Tasha gone, she still comes to the races to help sell paw prints and bones. She also talks in great length about IMHA to get people to be aware of the warning signs. She is unbelieveable! Steve

Steve, Looking forward to it. I am so happy you have found such a fantastic Vet. I think regardless of what sport is involved there are a lot of announcers that really should brush up on what they are covering. That is pretty bad when they cannot recognize a model of car in a car race. Penny

Joanne, It is because of you and your tiredless efforts that dogs around the world have a chance once diagnosed with this awful disease. I think everyone who has found your website and this board would agree that without all the information you have gathered it would have seemed to be a hopeless fight. Everyday we are all making a difference by getting the word out and I am sure in some cases changing our Vets minds and educating them at the same time. Hopefully in the years that come with the studies being done they will find a way to actually prevent or save every animal that receives this awful diagnosis.

Hi Steve and Penny, Will the #21 car be at the race? If so, could someone please get a picture of Barkley's orange paw for me? It would mean so much and I would like to put it in the alter I have set up for Barkley at home. Thanks so much and race your heart out, Steve! And I second, third, fourth, etc. all that Penny said about both Steve and Joanne! Cheryl (and always Barkley)
