Hi Kathleen so sorry your having trouble emailing but the whole of the virgin media e-mail is down and they are currently trying to fix it, so my only way of contacting anyone is via the vetnet forum. will let you know when I am up and running again. firstly, to claire. I have sent for the forceval junior caps from: www.assetchemist.co.uk. Order ID: 54464245 Total Price £21.12 Total Quantity Bought: 3 Shipping Rate: £3.75 Product Name:Forceval Junior [P], Pack Quantity: 30 capsules, Price: £5.79, Quantity Bought: 3, Sub Total: £17.37 As Phoebe is on a home cooked diet, Alistair and Marg at RD have suggested she take the calc carb, lo-salt, egg white (boiled) (do not give yolk at this contains phosphorous), Cranola Oil (sainsbury's £1.85 for large bottle - I also use this to cook/bake etc for family as it is very good for cholesterol), and forceval junior for vits as we can't get Pet Tinic in this country and is is over $50 to ship from US. I order my pumpkin from Partridges in Sloane Square - it's about £2.25 per can + P&P and they are fantastic - they send it out immediately. I know everyone says not to use the pie filling but I cannot find pure pumpkin/organis pumpkin anywhere - they tell me it's seasonal - halloween - and as she east the pumpkin and loves it I will just continue until it's either october or someone finds it online. Even my local health store cannot source it!! I hope this helps - have just come up against another problem only this morning and will start a new thread to see if anyone got any advice!!! Hope Nollaig's keeping fine - keeping all furbabies in my prayers. Kind Regards Gill & Phoebe PS look out for Phoebe in her new bandana on cloudnet - when I get time to upload her photo to Joanne!!

That's weird you can't find pure pumpkin anywhere. I can get it over here in just about any grocery store/supermarket. Just hard to find sometimes within the store. Have you tried prunes for diahrea? Johnny & Tessy
Johnny NS
If you can't find plain, organic canned pumpkin, why don't you just bake sweet potatoes and give a little each day. Sweet potatoes are good for constipation and for diaherra. They are also a healthy treat and you can easily slip a pill in there, too, if you don't want to wrap it in cheese or peanut butter. Just don't over do it and give too much.

So giving pumpkin helps with diarrhea? We used it when Kiki was severely constipated. Seems strange that it would help with both....but would be good info to know!! Like Johnny, we just but ours at the grocery store

I don't know about pumpkin for diarrhea or prunes for that matter. I thought prunes were for constipation. Are prunes good for dogs? I have read a lot about the benefits of sweet potato and it is supposed to be good for both diarrhea and constipation in dogs. I'd do an internet search on all these things, just to make sure and to see if they're safe for dogs to eat and what quantities, etc.

Hi Gill Many thanks for the additional info on the forceval jun capsules - I ordered them yesterday so they should be here waiting for my pooch after she is discharged - I'm assuming she will be admitted tomorrow at Royal Dick... Gill, my vet mentioned that I probably won't get to see Marg Chandler tomorrow - rather it will be a vet that works under her so to speak. Was this the same situation for you initially ? Are there other vets at Royal Dick that have indepth experience of PRCA ? Thanks, Claire

Hi Claire Have posted a response on another thread - the one where you said you were off to Royal Dick on Monday - please read it. The name of the fantastic vet under Marg Chandler is Alistair Stuart - as to see him and, if you are able, tell him you have been in contact with me and that I have highly recommended him to deal with Shaunna's case - he is great - keeps you up to date with everything, every step of the way and has such a great manner. He communicates with Marg Chandler over every aspect and they have progress/prognosis meetings to discuss which direction to take. As I said on the other post, my prayers are with you - it is a long, long journey you are about to embark on - but you could not do any better than take her to Royal Dick - that is ther very best chance you are giving Shaunna. Please let us know how you get on tomorrow. Love and best wishes Gill & Phoebe with a special kiss/lick from Phoebe to Shaunna for tomorrow!!
