Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Pill Pockets

Often I read posts on this forum and I see that the dogs are having a tough time taking their meds. When Tasha was sick it was hard for her as well to take her meds. We found out about Greenies Pill Pockets and this helped alot. I use them daily to give oral meds to my other dogs and this works much better than cramming them down their throats. Now my dogs beg for their meds, they think it is a treat. Just wanted to let you all know of this product. They make them with real Beef and Chicken. They are a small round treat with an open end where you can hide the pill by closing the open end. I buy mine online through Allivet, their number is 877-500-9944 or check them out at www.allivet.com
Hope this helps some of the dogs who have to take frequent doses of pills.

They are indeed a godsend. Be sure and buy the capsule size so that you can put more than one pill in.

I've been using these recently and Rex comes running when he hears me opening the meds bottle because he knows he's gonna get a "treat" (pill pocket). I found Pill Pockets at Petsmart (Arizona - $8.99 reg/ $6.99 sale).

They are handy indeed! A few months into the disease, I found the cost of them adding up and started to use Wellness canned food (no grain, there is Salmon, beef, Turkey and Chicken). Just wrap the pills in a morsel, they love it. It is a bit messier, but works well and way cheaper.
Best wishes,
