Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - phoebe's birthday

Hi Guys Today is Phoebe's 12th birthday - she has had her card and her presents (a duck with a squeaky toy inside) and her new top sparkly top knot - she absolutely loves the duck and every five minutes keeps attacking it and bringing it to me or her dad to play with her - wish I could video it to show you all - who would believe a over two weeks ago she was at deaths door! Spoke to her vet Adam on Friday and he said that when Phoebe arrive there no-one believed she would survive. So, everyone wo thinks that there is no hope for their furbabies - keep praying and posting - this is the best site ever and I do not know how I would have got to this point without you guys - thank you so much for your support and your advice. Happy Birthday Phoebe!!! We give the milk thistle tincture. I get it at the vet and it is more expensive than the capsules. You only have to giver very small amounts and a bottle lasts very long. Since Kahlu has very high liver enzyme values I thought it is worth it. Time will tell. Keep it up Phoebe! Brigitte & Kahlu

Happy 12th Birthday to Phoebe!! Squeaky toys are the best!!! At least Holly thinks so! We have given Holly Milk Thistle from the start, I buy the raw seeds and grind them up in a clean coffee grinder and give her aabout 1/2 teaspoon in her dinner every night. Easier then trying to get another pill down her. I always think of this board as my family, everyone always willing to share and help each other. Linda

I actually take Milk Thistle everyday myself and have for years. I rarely get sick and if I catch a cold or something the duration is usually a day or two tops. very good immune system booster.
