With all the sad losses on the forum just now, I just wanted to add a little hope and say that today,16th February,is Nollaig's one year anniversary from diagnosis of pure red cell aplasia(non regenerative anaemia of bone marrow) and she continues to keep well even with her 25% pcv which she can cope very well with.Obviously I'm hoping that this will rise, but I'll take that over her 8% which she was a year ago today-the sight of those chalk white gums will never leave me! I won't go on too much as I don't think right now is the time what with all those grieving their precious dogs, and even though I am obviously delighted about Nollaig,I too get upset and heartbroken when I hear of others losing the fight. Take care all, Kathleen and Nollaig

Congrats to you also on making it to one year. Hoping for many more years for you and Nollaig. I just posted on Tessy's thread how Casper also fell ill during the Valentine season and that we take extra precautions during this time of the year. Just thought I'd mentione it in case there is something seasonal in our dogs' cases.

Kathleen -- so happy for you and Nollaig as you mark her wonderful health on the one year anniversary of her diagnosis. I am sure you celebrated somehow -- with beagles, it can be food or massive petting and cuddling. Your commitment to Nollaig and her will to fight and live are so amazing. Please don't ever feel you need to apologize for your beloved dog's success. We all need to hear good news to help us get through the sad. May you and Nollaig have many more years together. Please take care.

Kathleen, Never hold back from sharing wonderful news. You give so many people hope and I realized a long time ago on here even the terrific people that have lost their precious furkids to this wicked disease are your biggest supporters. I think in a way it allows their pup's legacy and memory to live on thru the successes. Congrats to you and Nollaig! What a milestone. How is her named pronounced, like nol-lay? I cannot wait to see her on the Success Pages. Wishing you and Nollaig many more Happy Healthy Anniversaries! Teresa (and my Angel Boys Jacob and Rocky)

Congratulations on never giving up. So glad Nollaig has made this anniversary I wish my vets had been like yours when my Scruffy had a PCV of 8 as well. Instead telling me there was no hope for him and he would never recover. Well done for your determination to never give up. Julie.
