Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Ollies story/Vets in Salt Lake City Ut

Hi,
I posted Ollies story with his diagnosis of IMHA on another post. I am currently finishing work at my landscape garden/center business in NY and moving to Park City Ut where I work winter season untill March. If Ollies well enough to travel, we will be going as we have every year since I got him (he's the most well traveled dog in my town:-)!) I am desparate to get a recommendation (or non-reccomendation) for this area of the Salt Lake Valley. He has been so healthy the winters I've been there (7 of them) that I dont even have a regular vet in town.
any help appreciated,
Mj

Hi MJ,

We live in SLC! I love my vet, we go to East Valley Veterinary clinic. My vet is Dr. Lynette Sakalleriou. She has gotten Tiggs through his first IMHA crisis- he was dx on July 16, 2008, and what is wonderful about her, is that she is always willing to consult with other vets to gain more knowledge in treating Tiggs. When Tiggs was first dx, we also went to Cottonwood Animal Hospital, as Tiggs' needed an emergency transfusion, and was there when our vet's office was closed. We were impressed with them as well, but it was a very, very busy place. We also got another opinion at Colorado State, which is only about 6 hours away, and they are pretty up on the latest and greatest and are wonderful. Both CSU and my vet consulted alot during that initial phase, and they still stay in touch if needed regarding his care. I know that she is also treating at least one or two other IMHA dogs right now. I keep offering to host a support group, but the other dogs have done so well, their families haven't seemed to need the kind of support that we do!

Anyways, feel free to email me at melissalipani@hotmail.com and we can chat more about all of it, and maybe have a play date!

Thank you so much for the response Melissa! Good to hear your Tiggs is doing well, I'm just so nervous to travel and start new, but I think with more knowledge I can do it, I need to as I start work out there soon and this isnt' getting any cheaper! I will look into their clinic. Thank you so much!
