Hi All, Found this website while researching this disease. My Sadie, a mixed-breed dog about 5-1/2 years old was diagnosed on Monday. She died Tuesday afternoon. So quickly did she go that I was in shock. She became ill Friday evening and wouldn't eat much Saturday. Wouldn't eat anything nor come out of her house Sunday. We live in a rural area and there is no emergency vet service so had to wait until Monday to take her to the vet. It's weird that it seems she was fine one day and not so fine the next. My husband and I rescued Sadie when we found her out on the side of the road. She was nothing but skin and bones. She recovered nicely and ever since that time her favorite thing was food! The vet said that he had to bathe her 3 times just to get the smell off her. She was such a sweet dog and I'm going to miss her so much. Thanks for letting me talk about this.

Patty, I am so sorry you have lost your dear Sadie. The swiftness of this evil disease gets to us all. I am glad she had the time to know what a loving home was even if it wasn't for as long as it should have been. I hope in the coming days you can remember all the good times and these awful few days fade away. I think we are sent these special dogs because we will do our best and love them as they loved us unconditionally for whatever time we have. Take care Penny

Patty, My heart goes out to you over the loss of your sweet Sadie. Take comfort in the fact that you gave her a second chance by rescuing her and giving her a loving home. You made a positive difference in her short little life. I pray God's comfort and strength will get you through this sorrow. She has returned to the one who created her and I believe you will see her again one day in heaven. Karen

Patty, I'm so sorry about Sadie. I know that numbness - we lost Bronwyn 36 hours after diagnosis, too. I know how hard it is right now, and that feeling of shock. It sounds like Sadie was well-loved and cared for after you took her in; try and take comfort in all that you did for her and in your memories of her. Hng in there. Hugs. Elizabeth

Patty: My heart goes out to you as well. I know how much it hurts. I have cried buckets over the loss of Kit earlier this month. Gather up all your photos and try to laugh about the fun you had together. It might help. Take care.

Buckets of thanks for taking this sweet girl in and giving her love and care! I lost my Stormie within 48 hours of diagnosis and it left me staggering and in shock. I am so sorry Sadie has gone to the Bridge. She KNEW how much you loved her! Take care of yourself...you are not alone in your sorrow. Mrs. Gates
