If stress is what triggered a pup's AIHA, isn't the added stress of being in the hospital only going to make matters worse. They must be absolutely terrified when their owners leave them in an unfamiliar and miserable environment. It seems like a lose-lose situation.

When Drago got ill she spent the 1st week in the hospital on IV's and under constant care. I was only allowed to visit her for 10min a day because it made her too excited. Even when she came home all she was allowed to do was rest and let those red blood cells rebuild. No walks, excitement or anything. I had to feed her a diet of protein to built up those blood cells. So hang in there and go with what you vet says. Sue k

For me, its what abut the stress just going to the vet. its just getting Wylie to the vet I always use first thing am appt so I can get her in and out. Well I broke my cardinal rule last night because her HCT had dropped and I wanted to make sure it wasnt going down any further and my vet was off today. They were running so behind I should have just went home, I left her in the car until they were ready 45 minutes! After we got home Wylie practically hyperventiated for 2 hours. All I kept thinking is hope she doesn't crash. She looked good this morning thank god Laurie
