| Hi all, it's been a while since I posted here, but I'm happy to report that it's all good news so far. Our pound mongrel Moose was diagnosed in February of this year with AIHA, which as you all know is a very traumatic disease, and we were given a very poor prognosis for him at one point in his treatment. However Moose is a battler, and he survived the disease onset, struggled through the side effects of the high doses of steriods, and has come out the other side a healthy dog- steroid free! We actually think the high doses of steriods may have aleviated his hip dysplasia pain a little, as he's now comfortably walking much longer distances than he used to before the AIHA. Brett (my husband) and I had our first child in June, so Moose now has a little girl to play with. Just wanted to let you all know our news. I really wish you all the best with your precious dogs, and hope you take heart in the fact that dogs do survive and thrive after AIHA. | Thank you for the good news! Your daughter and Moose are both beautiful. My poodle was diagnosed on May 30, and has been improving. It is such a long battle that it is good to hear that returning to normal is possible. |
