Dr. Dodd recommended milk thistle-does anyone have experience with this-is it in capsule form? Also she was not really concerned about the Atopica but said that Dunes had stabilized quite nicely. I'll hold to my "gut theory" and not increase while keeping a close eye. Dr. Dodd said 25-35 is common for dogs after IMHA. Also-ordered, on her recommendation, Pet-Tinin.

Joe, My wonderful dog has just been diagnosed with this awful disease. What is Pet-Tinin?

Joe, We get Holly's Milk Thistle from a health food store that sells the pure seeds, and we grind into a coffee grinder, then I sprinkle about 1/2 teaspoon over her lunch & dinner kibble. It is easy that way, just mixes in with her food and no taste to it. It has done wonders holding her liver counts down. Gail, Pet Tinic is a iron/vitamin B12/folic acid which helps the new red blood cells to fully mature. Linda

I am glad you are getting the Pet Tinnic, Joe. I think the vitamin content is helpful. Choe has been taking it now for 16 months. Also, my homepathic vet has rxed a tonic called 'Liver drain'. It mnay have milk thistle in the ingredients. It is a liquid and I only give himn a few drops 2X day. I wonder if Dr. Dodd's also rxes this remedy. When his pcv was lower she also rxed a tonic called 'Spleen Blood Activator.' The vet I see is in Yardley, PA. I know they ship worldwide. If you are in contact with Dr. Dodds you muight ask her opinion on these two tonics. The bottle says it is made by a company called 'futureplex'. Jan

Try Country Life Liver Support Factors. It is a blend of ingredients around a base of milk thistle (silymarin). We also use Sam-e, something Dr. Dodds recommended. The best price I have found for these two items is at http://www.vitacost.com/ I don't benefit from this mention. At one point Chance's alkaline phosphatase was at 8650 with a high normal of 212. We had a result of 320 last week. I certainly did a happy dance! Mark has been so good about making sure Chance gets those two meds every morning for a very long time now. He's a good Dad. Patrice
