It was ten years ago that my little Midnight was at death's door with zero platelets from ITP. They gave her no chance to survive. They told me to euthanize her but Midnight still wanted to live, she told me with her eyes, her heart and her little weak kiss that she barely gave me. It is the success story of a lifetime. Midnight was 2 years old back in 2000, today Midnight turned 12!!!! Midnight battled ITP like a soldier, it was a miracle but she checked out of the facility that gave her no hope just four days later on her four paws. It was a long road, this forum was my right arm. Joanne was there for us all the time and many others who I am not sure if they are still on here or not. I listened to everything they told me about slow weaning of drugs...Midnight remained on some of the drugs for 5 yearsa. But in these 10 years ITP NEVER showed it's ugly face again in Midnight. Midnight went on to become one of the top agility dogs in the country for MANY years. We traveled the country competing in National events and even came to visit Joanne in MN. Midnight was the fastest cocker spaniel in the country for many years, she holds all the records. Due to her being diagnosed with glaucoma at 11 I decided to retire her from agility and doing children's brithday parties. She now rules the house and gets whatever she wants. I wanted to write this note to let everyone know that is always HOPE!' Happy Birthday sweet Midnight...Happy 12 and a very Happy 10 in remission from ITP! Michelle & Midnight

Thanks to everyone for joining and celebrating Midnight's 10 year milestone. I wanted to add that EVERY six months Midnight goes in for a CBC JUST to keep tabs on her. The first five years after she survived from ITP, I used to check her gums constantly, now I still check every day. Thank you God for my little Miracle Midnight and may each of your pups who falls ill find the same star shine over them who shined over Midnight. There is HOPE to battle this disease, Midnight is proof of that! Michelle and her old 12 year old lady Midnight!

Michelle - Thank you for your story - Sometimes it seems so hard to keep believing this horrible disease can be beaten. I'll just think of Midnight now and hope my Winston will be another anniversary story here.

| Dear Michelle and miracle dog Midnight, Oh Michelle I often thought of you and your dear midnight. How is TJ? just in case no one knows TJ was Tasha's main man. Michelle, Tasha left us for Rainbow Bridge the day of our son Michael's funeral. It has been 3 years already. I am so happy for you and Midnight. She holds so many records as being the fastest zooomer!!I imagine there was birthday cake and celebrations by the lucky 7. Do you still have Aussie with you? Those past days on the forum when Midnight and Lady were fighting a disease at the same time were very special and very heartwarming. We gave each other so much support, just as the mom's and dad's are still doing today. It is a great place for those still fighting this disease. Big Hugs to you Michelle and Midnight Love you!! | Hi Delores! I was so happy to see your name! Yes, I still have A.J.!! He turned 12 with Midnight...but he is no spring chicken and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure one year ago. He is on MANY drugs but was just at the cardiologist and now has an arrythmia but he still feels good and races up the steps every night to sleep with me. No unfortunately Auggie passed away two years ago just before his 14th birthday with kidney failure. You can see his tribute that I put together here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_9y4U5Gc24 This comes with a warning...BOX of tissues. It opens up with Markie and Auggie...if you remember he was my husband who passed away at 37 and all I had was one year old Auggie. You can see A.J.'s web page on http://www.thepartypups.com/aj.htm I now have not only a lucky seven but more...I added Jolie 4 years ago and her and Bosco had two pups last January,....I kept them both..Gemma and Andy. Be sure and check out Gemma... http://www.thepartypups.com/gemma.htm Doesn't she look JUST like Midnight???? I am sorry about you losing your son and tasha on the same day, how awful. Didn't Tasha have heart problems? Now look, her young stud AJ now has them too. Yes, there was a big cake for Midnight and AJ, and all 9 enjoyed:) Yes, I remember those days with your little Lady. Midnight was a miracle, and got to grow old and grey. I took Midnight to practice with the young ones and even with only one good eye, she still loves to run for fun and her tail wagged itself off the other day. So good to hear from you.. Love Michelle & ZOOOMIN FASSSST Midnight at 12! |

Michelle, that was a moving tribute video. Thanks for the tissue warning. I'm sorry AJ is having heart problems. It's never an easy battle having to deal with any disease. I'm glad he's getting around alright though. Reading this post makes me feel less of an outsider! The reason.....I have a housefull of cockers also! Eight of them in total. I thought maybe I was the only "crazy" one out there...LOL. Cockers have a special spot in my heart and always will. LOVE THEM ALL! Thanks for sharing. Johnny & Tessy
