Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - message to JoAnne from Jan

JoAnne,
Jan is unable to post again, her email is JJDachs@aol.com. I know over a year or so we were both unable to post and you did something to enable us both. I am still able but she is not.

Thanks,
Linda

I find that from time to time I also am not allowed to post. I don't know if I'm "not allowed" or if it is something technical. I'm figuring that it is something technical because usually after a few hours or a day it lets me post again.
Good luck with getting back with us.

Jan,
I sent you an email telling you how to find your IP address. Once I receive that IP address from you in a reply email, I will unblock that IP address so you can post again.

Joanne

Recently I have been having trouble posting also. I have posted on this forum for about 1 1/2 and never ever had any problems until a few weeks ago.

I think this might have something to do with AOL.

I know how frustrating it is to type a post and hit the send button only to find it does not appear. Yesterday I could not post at all but today I can, so I try to save what I typed and just cute and paste on a day I can post.

It worked... Thanks Joanne!

Yeah....it's a good idea to save what you write, especially if it's lengthy.

Jan,Cheryl and other AOL users,

I have visited with Mike the VetNet IT Tech in the UK and told him about the problem AOL users are having posting to the forum. Here is part of the reply he sent me:

AOL uses IP addresses differently from many other ISPs. They change them more frequently
and often mid-visit on sites."

Apparently this is the reason those of you on AOL are having trouble posting. Mike has made some changes so hopefully AOL users will now be able to post again without trouble.

Joanne,
Our GIANT list, along with many other dog lists, are hosted by lsoft. AOL has caused so many problems with these bouncing addresses that losft has now set their email software to delete AOL email addresses from any dog list that bounces just once. And moderators are not even allowed to reinstate these members! Some moderators will come on line in the morning and find that 200 members have suddenly been dropped from the group overnight!

Lsoft is suggesting that we ask all our dog list members to sign up for forum email with any other free email service other than AOL. Perhaps if folks here would try that, it might resolve some of the issues?

Patrice,

Since this forum is not an email list, email addresses have nothing to do with the issues that AOL users are having here. This issue involves the "IP address" that Internet Service Providers (ISP's) provides to each person who is online. This IP address cannot be seen without a "check" for it. This "IP address" is a number several digits long. The whole issue seems quite complicated but thankfully Mike is on top of it since we do seem to have these AOL issues about every year or so.

It helps me to know that other lists have the same problems with AOL so thanks for your post. I visit one list where AOL users are blocked often as well.

Both Mike and I are doing our best to see that we get the AOL problem solved when it is brought to our attention.
