Great news! I have been meaning to send a donation in memory of our dear sweet Caleb. I am glad I waited now it will be doubled! Yippee!
Penny Lytle Creek Calif
Joanne -- this is great news. It's nice to know that my September monthly donation will be doubled to help the IMHA research effort. Wiley's 16th birthday would have been on 16 September, so the Challenge Fund makes this one a little more special. I know these are tight times, but every little bit helps. Just think $5 becomes $10 and$20 becomes $40.

| Great new, Joanne. Please keep us posted on the details. Thank you for working so hard on bettering the lives of our precious furkids. | Joanne MN |
I think we are having somewhat of a problem with the Challenge page which is such a shame since MAF is off for the day. Try this URL: http://support.morrisanimalfoundation.org/site/TR?pg=fund&fr_id=1080&pxfid=1950 You should see a photo of Meisha on page. We have had one donation already so the page is working for some people.
Joanne MN
Joanne: Just wanted to let you know that I was able to successfully get to the Challenge page using either link. We're keeping our fingers and paws crossed here that we meet the challenge! Rita, Mike and Sheba
Rita IA
Rita & Cheryl, Thank you for your most generous donations to the Meisha's Hope $10,000 Challenge. Dolores, I will check with MAF tomorrow and if you donation did not go to the challenge, they will move it there. For anyone who is interested in Truman Collars, Debby the creator of the Truman Collar has issued her a Challenge as well. This is a quote from her Face Book page: "I have come up with a great challenge of my own. Usually I donate 25% of The Truman Collar sales to Morris Animal Foundation's Meisha's Hope Fund. During the next 10 days during this challenge, I will donate 75% of sales. I want us to get to that $5000 mark to get the other $5000. I am committed. So if anyone out there has been thinking about getting a new collar for their dog, now is the time to do it!" Thanks much Debby!! You can check out the WONDERFUL Truman Collars at this Web site: http://www.thetrumancollar.com/index.php

Hi Joanne, All! I was able to succesfully navigate to the page and make a small donation. ! I have also linked the MAF Meisha's Hope challenge to my facebook profile and front page. Hopefully, this will have some effect. I am crossing my fingers that we reach the 10,000 goal. I know many are having financial difficulties on top of paying for veterinary care for their beloved pet. I know what this is like. My donation, and I wish it were more, is made on behalf of all of your companions fighting for their lives right now. Christine
Christine Florida
well I TRIED to make a rediculously small donation ($5.00) and use the "other donation" box but I was told my donation amount was invalid I'd love to donate more but unemployeed 2 years now and paying off Bonnie's vet bills still I just can't. Thought this challenge would be a good way to make my $5 into $10 but guess not
Rottlady NH USA
Rottlady, I will check with MAF tomorrow and see if we can get the mimnumin donation lowered to $5.00. Thank you so very much for your desire to make a donation. I will see what I can do to make this possible.
Joanne MN
Bumping this up. I hope Joanne can get the minimum lowered. It is very difficult in the economy we are in for a lot of people that have Vet bills to pay off to be able to make a donation. I am sure that the challenge will be met.
Penny Lytle Creek Calif
The best part is that $5.00 will become $10.00:) Cheryl & Ginger

Today is Day 2 of the 2010 Meisha's Hope 10 Day, $10,000 Challenge. The first day raised $1,450.00, a good start. There were a few glitches. One donor forgot to hit the process button so I thought that the Challenge page had a problem, but it did not. I think Dolores' ISP truncated the Challenge URL so that sent her to the main MAF donation page. That problem can be taken care. If you were not on this site yesterday, here is the info for the 2010 Meisha's Hope 10 Day, $10,000 Challenge: Please view the You Tube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=it6W5f1XOpg and then check out the new Web page at the MAF site: http://support.morrisanimalfoundation.org/goto/mhchallenge where you can make your Challenge donation.
Joanne MN
Just an update: First of all the new total for the Meisha's Hope Challenge as of a few minutes ago is $1,865.00 Dolores, Your donation has been credited to the Meisha's Hope Challenge. It had gotten into the wrong place but is now where it belongs. Rottlady, I have just visited with the MAF online manager and she has changed the minimum donation to $5.00 so you can go back to the Challenge page and use "the other" donation box, put in $5.00 and it will be accepted and your $5.00 will be matched by our Challenge donor. Glitches can and do happen but MAF is always there to work with me and fix these glitches. They are truly the best. That is why I chose to start the MH Fund there. We are on our way to getting that $5,000 match. Let's keep it going!!
Joanne MN
thanks. I made my tiny donation, wish it could be more Diane in memory of Bonnie
Rottlady NH USA
Diane, Thank you!!! No donation is too small. And remember the Challenge donor will match your donation...so your "tiny" donation has become even larger!! Thank you again and a BIG thank you to everyone who has donated so far!!
Joanne MN
Chloe's in! We couldn't have made it these 4+ months without you. Donation in honor of Chloe, my very brave fighter. Joanne, please check and make sure the $ went to the right place. Cheri

It is Day 3 of the 2010 Meisha's Hope 10 Day, $10,000 Challenge: http://support.morrisanimalfoundation.org/goto/mhchallenge At the present time the donation total is $2,805.00. Thank so very much to all have donated thus far. I have sent out emails to many whose dogs were previous Success Stories at the MH Web site as well as to some people whose dogs have not made it and I have had emails back from so many of these people. One gal, who lost 1 dog to AIHA and 1 dog to ITP donated recently and a gal whose husband has been out of work for 9 months with not a lot of hope for new job donated as well. While the Fund and Challenge may be named after Meisha, the Fund and this Challenge is for everyone's dog who has had AIHA/IMHA in the past or will have it in the future. Prior to the establishment of MH Fund not a lot was being done to sponsor studies on Canine AIHA/IMHA. But in the 8+ years since the establisment of the MH Fund at MAF 17 studies have been sponsored or co sponsored by this fund. Because researches know that money is being raised to sponsor studies on Canine AIHA/IMHA more studies on AIHA/IMHA have been proposed and are being carried out. No study is funded by the MH fund at MAF until it has been screened and approved by MAF's Scientific advisiory board, which is composed of outstanding vets who volunteer for MAF as I and so many others do. All money from this Challenge will be going to a important new study on AIHA/IMHA that starts soon. If you haven't already donated to the 2010 Meisha's Hope 10 Day, $10,000 Challenge: http://support.morrisanimalfoundation.org/goto/mhchallenge I urge you to please do so if at all possible. Remember the first $5,000 in donations will be matched by our most generous Challenge donor.

I don't know where I would have been when my dog was diagnosed without the resources of Meisha's Hope and this board. Thank you Joanne for making that happen. I hope everyone who has made use of both sites can make a donation no matter how small. Every study done can bring us closer to finding answers to this awful disease. Penny
Penny Lytle Creek Calif
I just made my donation and the donation total is growing as we speak! It was up at $2960.00. more than half way, it will happen... I agree with Penny, when I was fighting the disease with Kahlu, the board and website were my lifeline. Not even my closest friends understood what we were going through. I can't thank Joanne enough for what she has created with both sites! Best wishes to all, Brigitte & the poodle boys

Just made my donation in memory of Wiley. September is her birthday month -- she would have been 16 on the 16th -- so I'm really so happy about the challenge. I know we're going to meet the $5K goal. We're now over $4K and plenty of time to cross the finish line. Thanks to everyone for their donations. It was so great to see so many familiar names on the donor list. Please don't worry about the size of the donation -- as others have noted, the donations will be matched. And it's not about the size of the gift, it's about the love, thought, care, and compassion behind it.

For future reference, those of us who choose to include charities in our wills might want to consider The Morris Animal Foundation, Fund #338, as a tribute to our canine friends.

Day 4 Meisha's Hope Challege: Today the Challenge total is up to $4,135. A very nice total for only 3 1/2 days. Thank you to all who have donated recently. Today donations have been rather slow so if you want to donate to the Challenge: http://support.morrisanimalfoundation.org/goto/mhchallenge today is a good day to do so. Barb Thank you for your comment about wills and the MH Fund #338 at MAF.
Joanne MN
When we meet this challenges goal which I am sure we will I hope that people continue to donate to Meisha's Hope when ever possible. Continued studies need to be done so hopefully someday this website will be a happy place all the time with people discussing their dogs progress not the heartbreaking stories of loss. I have been donating since 2006 even though I have no longer have dogs with this disease. We can all make it happen. Penny

It is Day 5 of the 2010 Meisha’s Hope 10 Day, $10,000 Challenge and the donation total as of a few minutes ago was $4,884.00. Wow that is so Great!! The Challenge donor has been watching the donations come in and is thrilled with the great response to the Challenge. Since there are still several days left of the Challenge this donor has increased the Challenge match to $6,000 from the original $5,000. This means that if we can meet that $6,000 total, $12,000 will be added to the Meisha’s Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at MAF. All of this money will be applied to a most important study on AIHA/IMHA that starts very soon. The Challenge Web page: http://support.morrisanimalfoundation.org/goto/mhchallenge has been updated to reflect this increased match by the Challenge donor. Thank you so very much to all who have donated thus far. If you have not donated as yet, you still have time to do so and your donation will be matched. Think of it, for every dollar you donate, TWO will go into the Meisha’s Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at MAF! Hugs to all the Canine kids from my Canine gal, Magpie and me!
Joanne MN
Today is Day 6 of the "2010 Meisha's Hope 10 Day, $10,000 Challenge". As of a few minutes ago the donation total stood at $5,194.00!! How wonderful!! As I mentioned yesterday, the Challenge donor has increased the Challenge match to $6,000 from the original $5,000. A BIG Thank you to all who have donated so far. If you haven't donated as yet, you still have time to do so and have your donation matched.

The Challenge is at $5194!!! I have no doubt Joanne will make it to $6000. I would also like to thank the anonymous Challenge donor, what a generous person! Best wishes to all, Brigitte & the poodle boys

Hi, I just tried to give a donation to the challenge in honor of Eddie - but since I live outside the US it won't accept the transaction because I can't give a "valid" US billing address). Joanne, any suggestions from you or MAF as to how to get around this? Thanks, Eddie's parents
Peggy Sweden
Peggy, My deepest sympathies to you on the loss of your most beloved Eddie.Thank you for your desire to donate to the MH Challenge in honor of Eddie. I will check with MAF about donations from Sweden and get back here with an answer as soon as possible.
Joanne MN
Peggy, I have been in contact with the MAF online manager. She has made all the billing address information optional so if you go back to the Meisha's Hope Challenge page: http://support.morrisanimalfoundation.org/goto/mhchallenge you should now be able to donate without filling in your address info. If you have any more problems please email me at: dicksonjoanne@hotmail.com and I will do my best to help you.

We still need to get about $600.00 more dollars. Come on peops. Let's dig deep to get our goal. Please!

Today is Day 9 of the 2010 Meisha's Hope 10 Day $10,000 Challenge. The donation total so far is $5,394. Just $606 more dollars are needed and we will be at the $6,000 donation mark and receive the entire $6,000 match from the Challenge donor. I am aware the we are still having a problem with the Challenge Web site when it comes to processing donations from outside of North America. Hopefully we can get this problem solved soon. However donations from the USA and Canada are processed "fast and easy". That comment came just this morning from a donor. Thank you to all who have donated thus far. Your donation will be matched by the Challenge donor soon. If you have not donated as yet, please consider doing so either today or tomorrow. Even a small donation will help so much and will be matched by the Challenge donor. All money from this Challenge will be applied to a very important new study on AIHA/IMHA that is starting very soon. Hugs to all the Canine kids from my Canine gal, Maggie and me!!

Today is day 10 of the 2010 Meisha's Hope 10 Day, $10,000 Challenge. This moring the donation total stands at $5,644. We only need $356 more dollars to make the goal set by the Challenge donor. Please help us meet that goal. Remember your donation will be matched by the Challenge donor and all the proceeds from this Challenge will be applied to a very important new study on Canine AIHA/IMHA that is starting soon. A BIG THANK YOU to all who have donated thus far!! http://support.morrisanimalfoundation.org/goto/mhchallenge

Joanne: Just donated another $60.00 so it would put us over the $6,000.00 mark. Here's hoping the new study gives us all some answers and hope! Rita, Mike and Sheba

Thank You Rita for this second donation as well as to everyone else who has donated to the MH Challenge. The donation total now stands at $6,104. We have now met the goal set by the Challenge donor and EXCEEDED it!! I have always said that dog people are the BEST people in the whole wide world and that has been proven again to me. Even though we have now met the goal set by the Challenge donor the Web site will continue to be open for the rest of the day and beyond, so please feel free to continue to donate if you haven't already and still want to. ALL donations received as a result of this Challenge will be applied to a very important new study on Canine AIHA/IMHA that will be starting very soon. It is my understanding that the matching $6,000 donation will be made directly to Morris Animal Foundation early next week. Once again, words cannot express my thanks to all who have donated to this Challenge, but words are all I have so Thank YOU!!
Joanne MN
Congratulations Joanne, You did it!!! Thank you to all the generous donors. There are 57 donors, that averages over $100 per donor. Now I know I did not donate that much, that means some people donated more than $100. Thank you so much! Like Joanne said dog people are the best. A huge Thank You goes to the anonymous Challenge donor who made it all possible. I know this money will get us closer to some of our questions. Best wishes to all. Brigitte & the poodle boys

Thanks from the bottom of my heart to each and everyone of you who donated to this challenge and a special thanks to Joanne, angel Meisha, Debby and the very generous anonymous donor. Sometimes we don't do anything because we think we can only do a little and it won't make a difference. However this challenge reminds us that even if we can only do a little, TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE in fighting AIHA. Cheryl & Ginger
Cheryl & Ginger Pineville PA
Way to go, Joanne!! Thank you so much to everyone who donated to the Challenge. Joanne's right - Dog People are some of the best around; I've said several times since losing Bronwyn to IMHA that the one good thing to come out of it is all the fantastic people I've gotten to know as a result. We CAN make a difference. I think Bronwyn and all of our IMHA dogs would be very proud. Elizabeth
Elizabeth Baltimore
Excellent news! None of this would be possible without Joanne's efforts. Special thanks to MAF and the matching donor. All good things are possible when good people come together. Hugs and high fives to everyone Penny
Penny Lytle Creek Calif
Congratulations on making the target amount and then some. Thank you Joanne and all those involved and all those who donated to such a great cause. It's the great awesome folks that help out that make this disease beatable! Although I couldn't donate to the cause I hold it dear to my heart. (more than most would think) It's eating me up not being able to donate in the memory of my darling Sadie but I really have to do what's best for Tessy right now. When (if) I ever get out of this rutt then the memory of my precious girl will be honored. Love you Sadie always. Johnny & Tessy
Johnny
Johnny You should not feel bad at all!!! Your gift is your time and the advice you have given to each and everyone of us and that my friend is priceless, worth way more then I could ever give. You honor Sadie everyday by being here for us and we so appreciate your help. Hugs to you and Tessy, Cheryl & Ginger
Cheryl & Ginger Pineville PA
Thanks Cheryl. Times are hard lately! I'm just waiting for them to cut off the cable and internet soon...then I'll certifyably be insane!!! LOL What we don't do for the furkids right! Johnny & Tessy
Johnny
Johnny: Well, darn it - I wish I'd thought of making the second donation in memory of all the wonderful furkids we've lost. It didn't even cross my mind - I just saw we were a little short and wanted to be sure we met our goal. Consider our second one as a tribute to Sadie and all the other wonderful dogs now frolicking at the Bridge. It's the least I can do as you and Patrice and so many others have been so helpful to everyone on this board. Hang in there - I totally understand about the "what we won't do" end of things! Rita, Mike and Sheba
Rita IA
A big congratulations for the challenge win. I also want to thank Joanne and the people at MAF who helped me make a donation from Sweden. I'm fortunate enough right now to be able to make a monetary contribution, and it was one way to honor Eddie. I also feel honored by the advice and kind words I've received here on this forum, these are indeed an invaluable donation of time and effort on the part of dog owners - you have helped me so much! Peggy O
Peggy Sweden
Johnny, I did make a donation in honor of your Sadie. As it was said you give so much hope and information to others on this board you really needn't concern yourself or feel bad that you couldn't do something this time. One study will probably not give us the key so when fortune smiles on you again you can donate then. Every study done hopefully provides a new clue and we can all be so grateful for every donor that makes these studies possible. You just need to concern yourself with your dear Tessy right now. (check your email) Penny
Penny Lytle CreekCalif
GREAT NEWS!! I am so happy for everyone on this forum -- human and canine -- and for all those everywhere who have been touched by this horrible disease. As someone above said, this effort shows just what people can do when they come together and give whatever they can -- in money, in knowledge, in compassion -- toward a cause. This is so exciting, and we did it on my dear Wiley's birthday. She would have been 16 today, the 16th. Johnny, Penny is right. You, and others like you who couldn't give at this time for various reasons, are still a part of this wonderful achievement. You and your dog family have been touched by this disease, and you have offered so much compassion and expertise and experience on how to get through it, day-by-day. On this day, the most important fact is that WE DID IT!!!! I will be checking in to learn more about this important study. Thanks so much Joanne, for all you do. And words cannot express our gratitude toward the anonymous donor who challenged us and helped us fund a study that will give us more insight into treating IMHA.
