Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Meds side effects?
| Hi All, Tess' platelets have rebounded but of course are now double what they were before she relapsed (this seems to happen each time). Today, morning and night, she has vomited a few hours after eating - and has eaten it! We have never seen her do this before - has anyone experienced this? She is on stomache protectants along with prednisone and cyclo. Any thoughts? Claudine |

| Claudine, Holly used to do that all the time vomit and then immediately eat it back up, however last week when she was sick and vomiting she did not want to eat it back. We used to believe when Holly did it, it was because she was so hungry because of the prednisone. Linda |

| Thanks Linda. I forgot to ask everyone, Tess' coat is a mess, between the allergies and the loss of clumps and the high dose pred now...... Does anyone have any suggestions to being it back to the way it was. It is so thin now, she is looking bald in places! |

| Claudine, Kahlu is just now, after 7 months starting to grow back the fur he lost. I am happy that the bald patches are coming back nice and dark. He still looks pretty pathetic. last time the vet said, ghe looks like he got a bad perm. We came to the conclusion that he is healing from the inside out. the coat will probably be the last thing for him to heal. I have given him Omega 3 oil with his food for months. If it does not help, it certainly is not hurting him. i think we just have to be patient. best wishes, Brigitte & a wag with the shaggy tail from Kahlu |

| Thank you. Would you be able to tell me what does of Omega 3 you are giving. I think I will try this but not sure of the dosage. Tess weighs 30 lbs. Claudine |

| Claudine, the Omega 3 i am giving is called omegapro3. i get it at the vet and it comes from Ontario! it is about $20 a bottle and lasts me a long time. the dosage is on the bottle and has an easy to dispense pump. For Tess it would be one pump=1ml. Brigitte |
